1) Adults only. Members must be 16 years or older. A parent or legal guardian must accompany 14 & 15-year-olds at all times.
2) No children in the gym. No children on or around any weight or cardiovascular equipment.
3) Paid members only. Your membership provides access for yourself only. Absolutely no friends,
guests, spouses, children, personal trainers, etc without prior approval. Admitting a non-member can result in non-refunded termination of your membership. Non-members violating this rule may be charged with theft of services and trespassing.
4) Monthly payments are due on the first of the month. If funds are not available in your account at the time of withdrawal, there is a $5.00 late payment charge.
5) Due to the "key club" nature of HealthQuest, there is not a staff member on the premises at all
times. Our security cameras are for use by the police and for us to check for misuse of the premises. We do not however, check member’s card use or the security videotape to verify whether any particular member has used the facility. The option to use the facility, whether in fact you use it or not, constitutes your membership and your obligation to pay for that membership.
6) The use of the premises is without supervision and protection. You are responsible for your own safety. Use safe exercise techniques:
a) See your physician first. Doctors agree anyone starting an exercise program should have a routine physical.
b) Know your own "cardiovascular training zone" and individual health limitations.
c) Do not do any stretching or exercise you are not physically comfortable with.
d) Remember, any exercise or weight lifting advice from other parties, members, staff or management
may not be based on sound medical advice for your health needs. If you have questions, restrictions or reservations see your doctor.
e) The consumption of alcohol or non-prescription drugs is prohibited prior to the use of this facility.
f) Always warm up and stretch a minimum of 10-15 minutes before starting any hard exercise.
g) Challenging yourself, increasing your current routine, and lifting heavy weights should never be done alone. Work out with a partner or ask someone to "spot" you, as appropriate for your needs.
h) When lifting, always control the weight, both on exertion, and when returning to the starting position. Never swing or drop weights.
i) Keep your back straight when lifting, avoid twisting or turning. Squat down to pick up weights, using your legs, not your back.
j) When lifting weights, remember to keep breathing. Don't hold your breath. Exhale on exertion.
Should you feel faint or dizzy or short of breath, stop and seek immediate assistance or call 911.
7) Please be aware of the following courtesy guidelines:
a) Unload bars and machines. Return weights to their racks.
b) Make yourself at home but respect your fellow members. Share equipment. Compromise on noise level, etc.
c) Use appropriate language.
d) Help keep costs and your membership fees low. If you are the last one to leave, please turn off
lights, radio, TV, etc. Please leave a few lights ON at night.
8) Intentional misuses, theft or damage to the premises or any equipment therein could result in increased costs or limited gym access for you or all members.
9) Concerns, requests and suggestions may be submitted by written note placed in the mail slot.
10) We reserve the right to refuse or terminate membership for any reason.
11) Members must wear a shirt and shoes at all times. Street shoes that have been worn outside are not allowed in any workout area!
